How to apply

Loreto Convent School welcomes applications for all grades, from Grade RRR (age three) to Grade 12. The admissions process is straightforward — and it begins with a conversation.

Enquire Or Book A Tour

Contact the school by telephone: 012 326 6342, email: admin@loreto.co.za, or WhatsApp. Book a campus tour to visit the school in person, meet the staff, and see the learning environment. Tours are available by appointment throughout the year.

Submit Your Application

Complete the application form and submit it to the school office along with the required documents. The school will confirm receipt and arrange an assessment or interview where applicable.

Welcome To Loreto

Once your child’s place is confirmed, Loreto will issue a formal offer letter. Pay the registration deposit to secure the place, and the school will send a welcome pack with everything needed to prepare for the first day.

School fees — 2026

Loreto Convent School fees are payable over 11 monthly instalments (January to November). Grade 12 fees are payable over seven months (January to July).

Additional Fees

  • After-care (Grades 1–12): R4 300 per annum or R430 per month (February to November)
  • Building levy: R850 once-off per family per year
  • Re-registration deposit: R6 000 (credited to January fees)

Discounts

  • Sibling discount: 5% off school fees for each additional biological sibling enrolled on the same account (Grade R and above)
  • Settlement discount: 2.5% if fees are settled in full by 28 February
  • Loreto Ambassador Programme: 2.5% discount for existing parents who successfully refer a new family to the school

Mary Ward Scholarship

The Mary Ward Scholarship is Loreto’s flagship academic award, offered to exceptional young women entering high school. The scholarship recognises intelligence, integrity, and independence — the values on which the school was founded.

Scholarship candidates sit a competitive examination. Successful applicants receive a full scholarship for the duration of their high school career at Loreto. Full details, eligibility criteria, and application deadlines are published annually.

No. Loreto Convent School is a Catholic school, but it welcomes families of all faiths and backgrounds. The school’s values —integrity, compassion, justice, and service —are universal. All learners participate in the school’s values programme; religious instruction is offered within the Catholic tradition.

Yes. Loreto Convent School is a fully co-educational school from Grade RRR to Grade 7 (end of primary school). Boys and girls learn together throughout the pre-school and primary phases. From Grade 8 to Grade 12, the high school is for girls only.

School hours vary by phase. The campus is supervised from 06:00 to 17:30. Pre-school learners (Grades RRR, RR, and R) are cared for until 17:30, included in the fees. After-care is available for Grades 1 to 12 at an additional cost of R430 per month.

Loreto follows the CAPS (Curriculum and Assessment Policy Statement) curriculum, as prescribed by the Department of Basic Education. The school is registered with Umalusi and the Catholic Institute of Education.

Loreto Convent School is located at 135 Nana Sita Street (formerly Skinner Street) in the Pretoria CBD, 0002. The school is accessible from the N1 and N4 highways.

Loreto is exploring shuttle arrangements with sister school Loreto Queenswood. Families are encouraged to enquire directly with the school office about current transport options.
